Make your first session a useful one.
Start with a short test conversation. Confirm that Mufal hears the right audio, try a question about the transcript, then review the resulting notes.
Mac and Windows. No API keys required to start. See plan limits.
1. Install and sign in
Download the build for your Mac or Windows computer. Open Mufal and sign in or create an account. Choose the Free plan to try the included allowance; no API keys are required.
2. Check permissions and audio
Grant microphone access and the additional audio capture permissions requested on your platform. Choose the microphone you actually use. In an agreed test call, speak and ask the other person to speak; confirm both appear in the transcript.
3. Start a session and ask a question
Let participants know you plan to transcribe. Start your session, then ask a concrete question such as: What decisions have we made so far? AI answers use the available context and may need correction.
4. Review and follow up
Stop the session when the conversation ends. Generate a summary or follow-up draft, review it against the transcript, and correct names and commitments before sharing.
Troubleshooting before contacting support
For missing text, check permissions, selected audio devices, network access and remaining usage. For an AI request failure, check your allowance and any optional provider keys. Include OS, Mufal version, exact error and reproduction steps in your support message. Avoid sending confidential transcripts or API keys.
Questions before you start
Do I need API keys to start?
No. The Free plan includes transcription and AI answers within its usage limits. Bringing your own AssemblyAI and OpenRouter keys is optional; provider charges then apply separately. See Pricing for current limits.
Does a bot join my meeting?
No. Mufal runs on your desktop and captures audio using the permissions you grant. Let participants know you are using transcription and follow your organization's meeting policies.
Try it on your next conversation.
Start with a short session, check the transcript, and ask your first question.
