How do I start recording a meeting?

Open Mufal on your iPhone, tap the microphone button on the Live tab, and place your phone on the table. Mufal will start transcribing in real time immediately.

Which languages does Mufal support?

Mufal currently supports English and French for live transcription. Additional languages are on our roadmap.

How does the AI chat work?

During or after any meeting, tap "Ask Mufal" to open the AI panel. You can ask for summaries, action items, key decisions, or any question about what was discussed. You can also attach a photo of a whiteboard and ask about it.

Is my audio stored on your servers?

No. Audio is streamed directly to AssemblyAI for real-time transcription and is never stored on Mufal's servers. Only the resulting transcript text is saved — on your device and optionally synced to your private cloud account.

What are the subscription plans?

Two plans. Free: 60 min/month of live transcription and 25 AI answers per day — no credit card, nothing to configure. Pro+ ($25/mo or $240/yr): unlimited transcription and AI answers, premium models included, cloud sync, and priority support.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings screen inside the app, or by contacting [email protected].

Can I bring my own API keys (BYOK)?

Yes, as a free optional feature for power users: paste your own AssemblyAI and OpenRouter keys in Settings → AI Providers to run Mufal at your own cost without the Free plan limits. On Pro+, keys are included — no setup required.

The app requires microphone permission — why?

Microphone access is required for real-time transcription. Mufal requests this permission on first use with a clear explanation. You can revoke it at any time in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy → Microphone.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email [email protected] with your account email and we will permanently delete all your data within 30 days, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
